My Blog Crush
December 15th, 2006 | by Vinny |I was reading one of my favorite ‘mommy’ blogs, Daughter of Opinion, and today’s post is about blog crushes. You know, the blog you can’t wait to read. If you met the author, you would blush and gush. I was wrapping up the morning work, and took a moment to ponder. Then it came to me.
Jessica IS my blog crush. I found her by accident one day, after seeing her on someone elses blogroll. I’m sorry that I no longer remember who, because they deserve thanks for the gift they’ve given me. When I started reading Jessica, I went back through some of the posts she highlighted in her links. I cried.
Her stories are heartfelt and vivid. When I read the recollections of her early days as a mother, I want to run up and hug her. You share her fear, you envy her courage, and you laugh with her in those moments that we all experience- it’s not funny THEN, but it sure is in retrospect.
I see her pictures, and I know she can’t be real. No one who’s struggled like she has could be that warm, that caring, that beautiful. But I also know that St. Louis, MO is a real place, so maybe she’s not just a dream. Maybe she is real.
Am I blushing yet?
